The Essence
While Al-Ghafoor forgives and covers a sin, Al-Afuw goes a step further: He completely pardons and wipes away the sin from the record books entirely, as if it was never committed in the first place.
In the Quran
فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَفُوًّا قَدِيرًا
"Then indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning (Afuw) and Competent. (Surah An-Nisa 4:149)"
In Your Duas
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
"O Allah, You are the Pardoner, You love to pardon, so pardon me."
